Lock in on every device

Desktop and mobile, both blocking at the system level.

Windows

ColdWork desktop app showing an active focus session
01

OS-level website blocking

Blocked sites are cut off at the network layer across major browsers.

02

App killer

Discord, Steam, Spotify — any desktop app you flag gets killed for the duration of your session.

03

Strict Mode

Lock yourself in. Strict sessions can't be ended early — blocking stops only when the timer hits zero.

Android

01

Blocks apps and sites on your phone

Not just a browser filter. ColdWork blocks at the system level so every app on your phone is covered.

02

Short-form video blocker

Targets YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok specifically — the formats engineered to steal hours.

03

Desktop Remote Control

Start a session on your phone and it locks your PC at the same time. One tap, both devices frozen.

The actual problem

You don't need another
productivity dashboard.

The failure point is smaller and uglier: one weak tab, one quick video, one app switch. ColdWork is built for the moment where discipline usually collapses.

01Open YouTube for five minutes
02Check one message
03Scroll Shorts without noticing
04Look up and lose the session

What gets cut off

YouTube, Reddit, X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Twitch
Shorts, Reels, TikTok — engineered to trap you
Discord, Steam, any process you flag

How it works

One decision.
A locked session.

01

Build your blocklist

Add the sites and apps that steal your sessions. YouTube, Reddit, Discord, Steam — takes 30 seconds, saves hours.

02

Hit Start

No timer to set, no duration to pick. The stopwatch runs and the block holds until you decide you're done.

03

Lock in

OS-level blocking covers major browsers and the apps you flag, so switching tabs or apps is harder.

04

Track your progress

Every session is logged. Check the Stats tab to see your weekly total, best day, and how your focus is trending over time.

Who it's for

Serious work sessions,
not productivity theater.

01

Skill builders

For anyone trying to get good at something — and losing the deep work block to entertainment tabs.

02

Students

For study sessions where the work is obvious, but the first distraction ruins the entire hour.

03

Procrastinators

For anyone who knows exactly what needs doing and opens Reddit instead. The app that locks the door before the impulse wins.

Features

Every feature does one thing.

Windows

Blocked at the OS Level

The block runs below the browser, directly at OS level. It covers Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and incognito without depending on a browser extension.

Android

System-Level App Blocking

ColdWork uses Android's built-in usage controls to block distracting apps — Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, or anything else you add.

Windows

One Click to Start

Hit Start Now. Your blocklist activates and the stopwatch runs until you stop it.

Android

Screen Time Analysis

See exactly how long you spent in each app today. Your usage data stays on-device — no account needed, nothing sent anywhere.

Android

Scheduled Blocking

Set a weekly blocking schedule and it kicks in automatically — no need to start a session manually every time.

Windows

Blocks Apps Too

Closed the browser and opened Discord instead? Still blocked. Flag any desktop app and ColdWork kills it too.

Questions

Common
questions.

Cost

Is ColdWork free?

ColdWork has a free tier with core blocking features. Pro and Lifetime unlock advanced features like Strict Mode, Custom Rules, app blocking, and focus statistics.

Technical

How does ColdWork block websites and apps?

On desktop, website blocking runs at the OS network layer across major browsers. On Android, app blocking uses the system-level accessibility and usage controls built into the OS.

Trust

Is ColdWork safe? How do I know it's not malware?

The entire app was built in public — the whole process was documented on YouTube so you can see exactly what it does and how. Nothing is hidden. You can watch how the blocking works, how data is handled, and how the whole thing came together. Watch the build on YouTube →

Features

What are Custom Rules?

Custom Rules let you set context-aware blocking without starting a manual session. For example: "Whilst youtube.exe is open, block netflix.com and reddit.com." The moment that app is detected running, the block kicks in automatically.

Desktop

Is there a browser extension?

Yes — ColdWork includes a Chrome extension that works alongside the desktop app. It catches tabs that are already open when a session starts, blocks YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels, and stays in sync with your session in real time. It's not on the Chrome Web Store yet, so you load it manually via developer mode in a few clicks.

Platform

Which platforms are supported?

ColdWork is available on Windows 10 and Android. Mac support is on the roadmap.
